Jessica is an adaptable, action-oriented, and collaborative professional with over five years of experience working for the public sector, private sector, and Indigenous communities and organizations. Her experience includes the development, planning, and implementation of Indigenous engagement and consultation programs, socio-economic research and analysis, environmental planning, policy analysis, and negotiations related to Indigenous rights and self-determination. Jessica has been recognized for her ability to cultivate and maintain honest and open relationships as well as her strong analytical, project management, and facilitation skills.
Jessica is passionate about supporting Indigenous groups and communities to ensure their meaningful involvement and participation in decisions, policies, programs, and projects that affect their communities. She enjoys collaborating with and learning from Indigenous clients to find solutions to their unique challenges that are grounded in their local realities.
In her current role as a Capacity Development Team Advisor, Jessica will support and assist Indigenous communities and organizations in the North, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Her main objective is to enhance their aquatic management and fisheries capacity. Jessica works collaboratively with clients to identify, plan, and implement the necessary organizational capacities to carry out their work efficiently. This encompasses all fisheries and aquatic management areas, including financial, human resources, operational, technical, and scientific capacity. Furthermore, Jessica promotes Indigenous-focused stewardship and collaborative fisheries management with communities and groups, ensuring long-term growth and sustainable development.
